I'm in Love!

He may be gay (who knows?) but I am in love. Eddie Ross has the cutest and the coolest decorating ideas. Now all I need is a real man and a house to decorate!

Organize Me!

In an effort to de-clutter my life I am adding a new section to my sporadically updated blog -Organize Me! I will be featuring all the lovely ways to organize your (my) life. I absolutely love these "Letter" files from Anthropologie. - so clever

You Tube Inspiration

I am completely convinced Beyonce's latest music video was inspired by a YouTube cult classic...

Across the Universe

I am surprised by how often I will listen to a song, love a song, but never really listen to the lyrics. For some reason, even though I love music and I love literature my mind doesn't link the two together, assimilating both simultaneously as a perfect whole. But for some reason, this morning my sensitivity to the lyrics was heightened. (I attribute it to my intensive, insatiable reading of the Twilight saga - its like LSD for literature.)

As I listened to the Across the Universe soundtrack I was caught off guard by the spectacular imagery of "Across The Universe" by the Beatles. If I had John Lennon's gift for words I would be able to describe the excitement, beauty and joy for life these unique imaginitive words made me feel, but as it is you will just have to read and experience them for yourself!

Across the Universe

Words are flying out like endless rain into a paper cup
They slither while they pass, They slip away across the universe

Pools of sorrow, waves of joy, are drifting thorough my open mind
Possessing and caressing me Jai guru deva om (Victory to God, Divine!)

Nothing's gonna change my world

Images of broken light which dance before me like a million eyes that call me on and on across the universe.
Thoughts meander like a restless wind inside a letter box. They tumble blindly as
they make their way across the universe.

Sounds of laughter, shades of life are ringing through my open ears, exciting and inviting me.
Limitless undying love which shines around me like a million suns, It calls me on and on across the universe

Jai guru deva om (Victory to God, Divine!)
Nothing's gonna change my world

The REAL Obama

A little over a week from now the citizens of our country will be exercising their right to vote for government officials. What many people do not realize is that in this election we will be voting for the future of our country.

Untitled Draft

I found this untitled draft sitting in my post list. I have no idea what I was going to write but it just reminded me how much I love my family. I have so much fun when I am with them. My dad and Claire have the best senses of humor and my mom is just a sweet heart. I love you guys!

this is just a random cool shot of some dolphins. I almost never get a picture when they are out of the water!

Drop It Like Its Yacht - 2008

Drop it Like it's Yacht 2008 has come and gone and life will never be the same. Though very different from last year's adventure, this year's trip it offered its own kind of adventures, fun, and memories to last a life time!

The Gang (from Left to Right): Lyndee, Megan, Sara, Mom, Dad, Claire, Shea, Dyana, Skyler, Jim, Jayden

There was hiking....

....Nature (National Geographic has nothing on us!)....

....Amazing sunrises and sunsets....

....Nightly games of Catch Phrase (Ben Franklins was...president? psychobabble...what?)

.....and Mafia (I won!!...thanks daddy!)....

....and umbrellas in every drink...at least for Claire :)

An all around good time for everyone!

The BEST Day Ever!

I can't even begin to do this day justice....so I am not going to try! If you want a more detailed account of our trip go here or if you would like to see more pictures go here.

It all started when I received a message from my little friend Mark asking if I wanted to go to Montauk with him and Courtnie. To their shock I said, "YES!!"
Our day started at McDonalds.....of course!

This way to Montauk!

One of my favorite thing to come out of this photo frenzie was all pictures from "the other side"
Check it out....

If you have never been on a road trip with two photographers I highly recommend it! The entire trip was one giant photo shoot. These slide shows will give you just a small glimpse of what our day was like.

Some Cool shots

....and....the Photoshoot!

All I can say is.....

Wow! (or in my case vov!) what a day!! :)

Random Musings

Today I was randomly thinking about personality traits - mine in particular - and I came to the conclusion that I think one of my best characteristics is also one of my worst.

It reminded me of that scene in City Slickers where Billy Crystal, Daniel Stern and Bruno Kirby are talking about the best and the worst day's of their life. Bruno Kirby tells the story of the worst day of his life when stood up to his father for cheating on his mother. Billy Crystal then turns to him and asks "If that was your best day, what was your worst day." Bruno Kirby responds, "It was the same day."

Out of curiosity, what do you think is your best characteristic? Your worst?
You can respond annonymously if you would like but I'd love it if you would respond!

What Life is All About!

Each summer since I was 16 my grandparents have held Grandkids Retreat - a family reunion of sorts except it is only for my grandparents and cousins who are between the ages of 8 and 18. Well at least that was the original rule. Now there are so many of us (42 in total) that they need the older grandkids to come to help watch over the rest of the clan. Last year was the first time I had been in almost 10 years (yes! to all you smartie pants out there that means I have only been twice). I had so much fun last year I really wanted to go again this year. So, I volunteered to help my grandparents plan thinking that would make it so I would have to go for sure.

Well, a little thing called a job got in the way of that plan! I did help plan (sort of) and I had a lot of brilliant ideas (few of which actually came to fruition because of the fact that I am on the east coast and they are on the west....and I am much busier than I was this time last year) but without the help of my amazing sister none of it would have happened. {thank you claire!}

And eventhough I wasn't able to be there physically it still makes me so happy to see these pictures. THIS is what life is all about!
Claire's adorable invitations
Everyone in the bus to go river rafting (see Grammy & Grandad in the back?)
